Local Pest Control Box Wiltshire

Many properties across Box and the surrounding Wiltshire villages present challenges that go far beyond standard pest control. Historic buildings, period homes, agricultural properties and rural commercial premises often require specialist knowledge when dealing with bees, birds, wood-boring insects and other wildlife issues.

One of the most common misconceptions we encounter is that every pest issue can be solved using the same approach. In reality, heritage buildings, stone properties and older structures frequently require a much more considered solution that protects both the building and the wildlife involved.

At BEEKIND™, we work with homeowners, businesses, churches, landlords and property managers throughout Box, Colerne, Ditteridge and the surrounding area. Our focus is on providing responsible pest management, specialist wildlife services, bird control solutions and professional woodworm surveys that help protect both buildings and biodiversity.

Please note that from 1st March 2026, BEEKIND™ no longer provides treatments for rats or mice.

New company policy is in play: From the 1st March 2026, we no longer offer services for Rats u0026 Mice. We only deal with other rodents such as squirrels and Moles etc.

Why Specialist Surveys Matter

Many pest control issues begin long before visible damage appears. During surveys, we regularly discover signs of bird activity, wood-boring insect infestations or bee colonies hidden within areas that are inaccessible from ground level.

Using drone-assisted inspections and detailed property assessments, we can safely investigate:

  • Roof spaces
  • Chimneys
  • Church buildings
  • Stone walls
  • Slate and tiled roofs
  • Historic structures
  • Commercial premises
  • Agricultural buildings

This approach allows us to identify issues accurately before recommending the most appropriate course of action.

Understanding Bee Removal And Conservation

One area where we differ significantly from many pest control companies is our approach to bees.

Over the years, we have encountered many situations where property owners were advised to destroy a bee colony simply because removal appeared difficult or time-consuming. In many cases, this can be avoided through specialist knowledge and careful planning.

Honeybees play an important role within the environment and, where possible, our aim is to preserve colonies rather than destroy them.

Many people assume that all bee-related issues should be handled by a beekeeper. While beekeepers perform an important role in managing honeybee hives, most are not insured or trained to dismantle building structures in order to access colonies hidden within walls, chimneys, roof spaces or other parts of a property.

Our experience allows us to assess both the building and the colony itself, helping property owners understand the available options before any work takes place.

A Recent Project In The Local Area

A property owner near Box contacted us regarding a suspected bee colony within a traditional stone wall.

Initial inspections suggested that the colony had been active for a considerable period and was located deep within the structure. Accessing the bees required an understanding of both masonry construction and honeybee behaviour.

Following a detailed assessment, we were able to identify the colony location, advise on the available options and develop a suitable plan that considered both the building and the welfare of the bees.

This type of situation highlights why specialist knowledge is often required when dealing with wildlife issues in older properties.
